Garmin StreetPilot c310

The affordable StreetPilot c310 offers the same features as the StreetPilot c320 but comes with one European region.

The c-series range provides premium in-car navigation capability with automatic route calculation to any destination, turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way and a three-dimensional navigation view. The c-series offers all of the functions of a premium in-dash system at a fraction of the cost.

As an added benefit, you can import customized points of interest with the help of Garmin's free POI Loader software. The possibilities are endless—upload safety cameras or school zones, and you will receive a warning if you are traveling too fast. In addition, an optional proximity-alert feature notifies you of upcoming custom POIs.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c310 comes preloaded with highly detailed MapSource® City Navigator® street data of one specific region on a 256 MB SD card with our new NT (New technology) mapping format. The database features an industry-leading millions-plus points of interest — including hotels, restaurants, petrol stations, and attractions. Additional coverage for all of North America or Europe can conveniently be added with the purchase of these areas on SD cards.

The StreetPilot c310 also includes the standard basemap covering all of Europe, so users can still travel outside the programmed card's coverage area using major roads.

DO NOT BUY

The vent mount is junk. It contains two plastic flimsy pieces that attach to the vent and could very easily break. It is so big and heavy that I did not even attempt to put my Garmin system in it, because it would have fallen to the floor in seconds. I strongly advise that you consider other options before purchasing this product, because you will be sorry if you waste your money on this. Luckily, I was able to return mine for a refund. Minus the shipping, I wasn't out anything. Now I've purchased the garmin dash mount instead.

Effective... but can use some mods.

I have a Garmin C320, and I'm sure most C320 owners already know that the suction cup mount can be a bit useless.

This kit is actually built up from various Ram mount components (pretty good quality). It was relatively easy to put together, and is composed of 3 subcomponents: the vent clip assembly(which has an adjustable ball joint), the ball-joint-to-clip assembly, and the C320-device-to-ball-joint assembly. Putting these 3 together took about 2 minutes and the result is a vent mount for your C320. Thanks to the two separate ball joints, the device has a very high degree of movement.

Now for the bad: Since the C320 device clip is OEM, it lacks the electrical mating point that allows you to use a charger when this thing is in its mount. If the device is fully charged, you're a-ok. If its not, it could be problematic.

Here is what I did (try at your own risk, you will void your warranty and possibly break your original mount as well as the OEM one): Remove the original ball-joint-mate assembly from the original Garmin mount (so whats left is the device clip and the ball joint mounted to it), shave about 3mm off each side of the Ram mount ball-joint-mate assembly so it can mate with the Garmin ball... and then put these together! Now, you get the OEM device clip with charge assembly, the Ram ball-joint-mate assembly, and the vent clip assembly.

With this modification you lose a bit of the freedom of movement the original ball joint or the original Ram mount provided... but you get full-charge capability.

you want no regrets? you don't order this.

arrived in a timely fashion but with NO instructions, NO packin' slip. This mount, not from Garmin, has too many parts to assemble and unlike Garmin's Dash Mount, cannot easily be removed when parked and so can easily be seen from the street. Requested return authorization from seller, I got NO response.
